It’s actually not that complicated. Lemmy just works like email. You can use different email providers (lemmy calls them instances) like gmail.com or yahoo.com and they work together. What you call subreddits is called communities and they are managed by a instance. If one instance does something that you don’t like, you can use another. They all work independently but exchange data. If you have any questions see this. Hope this helps

Sync is a mobile app, but you can sign in to lemmy by going to your instance’s website (for you it would be lemmy.world). Remember, sync is only a way to view lemmy, it doesn’t power lemmy

I never really used Reddit. I would scroll through it if I was really bored and occasionally post but never that much. I stopped because of the API just because it was really easy to stop. It could only be good for me to remove that one other thing that tricks my mind into doom scrolling. So will I be using Lenny? It would probably be good for me to not and go do more productive things. But I feel like if I have free time, supporting this is definitely good, I really like the goal and don’t want it to die.

100% agree, when I bought my pixel 6 I was really thinking of getting the 5a. But there was a crazy black friday deal on the 6 that made it a no-brainer. Along with the crazy size and weight, I still wish I had a physical fingerprint reader.
