Bluesky’s moderation team is shit. Recently, their “head of trust and safety” went full Elongated Muskrat and tried to permanently ban a user who was tracking his public data.

I’ve looked at SDF before, and one thing has never changed: I have no idea what I’m looking at or how it works, and the more I look the more esoteric it seems.
Edit: Ah, that’s right, I dropped looking at SDF before because of how condescending their FAQs are.
Not so much self-hosting related (though I do run a Jellyfin server on this PC), but within the past week, I was sure I was gonna have to reinstall my os (and probably take the opportunity to jump distros) because audio just would not work. Everything seemed to think it was fine. Even OBS was picking up the audio, but there was no output. Persisted through reboots and everything.
I have no idea what happened to cause it or fix it.
Police say it appears to be a suicide. Probably true, honestly, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t driven to it.
I love the part where you, once again, describe yourself there while continuing to tiptoe around the matter at hand.
Just come out and say it, already. “I don’t have a problem with imperialism, just the wrong imperialism.”
Kill the 🤡 in your brain.
And FWIW, I am incredibly tired of this BS, so I’m blocking you because I’m tired of you flooding my replies.
Ignores the point of my comment
Hyperfocuses on one tiny detail
.ml username
What a shock.
“Neighbor” was never an important detail, and only someone struggling to string together some type of deflection from the point would focus so deeply on it. The point, as is abundantly clear to anyone with a couple of braincells to rub together, is that these countries are doing that now, as in at this moment, and are targeting civilians, which the person in responding to gladly ignored with their “but no, everyone says Russia is bad” bullshit.
And you have the gall to accuse me of making a bad faith argument. Once again, pathetic.
Selectively defends by accusing others of selective defence when they accuse you of selective defence
Fucking lmao
Anarchist instance
DOUBLE LMAO
Acting like Putin and Kim are chill is about as “anarchist” as Elon Musk thinks he is.
Nice try putting words in my mouth, fuckhead. Things like Vietnam weren’t even being discussed until the tankies in this thread tried to use them as a tool to deflect from ongoing atrocities. But hey, if you’re down with bombing children’s hospitals and apartments, you do you I guess. But maybe you should try learning to fucking read before picking a side and accusing people, dipshit.
I absolutely love the part where you guys are all so vocal about “but the US did this and this” but have literally nothing to say about @mydude@lemmy.world up there acting like Russia and North Korea are perfect little saints while actively trying to wipe out civilians.
Just Tankie Things™️
Fools get downvotes here. When the US launches a violent offensive directly on a neighboring independent country with the intent of destroying its people and conquering its land, which NK and Russia are currently trying to do, maybe you’ll have a point.
Let’s just summarize the argument made here using actual facts:
Everyone says Russia is so bad for bombing children’s hospitals and rest homes and apartment buildings, but look at the US’s military budget!"
It’s pathetic.
I present: the reason we can’t have nice things.
A very short summary that may not be entirely accurate but is close enough:
WP Engine made a good amount of money off of WordPress without contributing back, and Automattic broke their own license to fight them, all the while the CEO became increasingly unhinged.
So it’s no longer “Pepe isn’t used by extremists on Steam,” it’s now “Pepe being used by extremists on Steam doesn’t matter,” huh?
Goalpost status: moved.
How does that saying go?
That didn’t happen.
And if it did, it wasn’t that bad.
And if it was, that’s not a big deal.
And if it is, that’s not my fault.
And if it was, I didn’t mean it.
And if I did, you deserved it.
I love it when people respond to exactly one line and ignore the rest of my comment. Totally not a bad faith argument at all. Totally not exactly the same shit Reddit bigots always did.
Uh huh, uh huh.
Meanwhile, here on earth, Matt Furie’s own lawyer brought up the fact that, on Steam, Pepe emotes were being used “in connection with hateful speech.”
Tell me something, has that changed, or is it possible, just maybe, that the Steam Community is one of those places I was referring to?
So now tell me this, when you claim that it’s ridiculous to treat Pepe use as a sign of hate on Steam Community, are you ignoring the active, proven and admitted use alongside hate speech, or are you trying to downplay it?
It’s all.
Buying a house as an “investment” is what we call “scalping” in other businesses. Not to mention the fact that this type of buying worsens housing prices and increases homelessness for personal gain, even on a small scale.
The only exception I can give is people who rent out part of their own home, as this situation actually creates available housing.
Just because the creator doesn’t want it used as a hate symbol doesn’t automatically mean it isn’t used as one, and next to chan-level garbage is the grand total of where I’ve seen Pepe.
Third-party apps like boost can do this, so I assume the frontend could if they wanted.
Chances are, the CEO should’ve been prosecuted for whatever precipitated this long ago. Sounds like suicide by victim to me.
Gonna be real, microblogging is never gonna really work with decentralization. It barely works when centralized. It’s isolating by nature, and only really amplifies the voices that are already the loudest, and the introduction of separate servers and federation delays only make those problems worse.
