There’s no publisher, they’re as indie as they come. The original prototype and game were made by burning through their savings, and it sold millions of copies, so they’re completely sheltered from need for the rest of their lives. Silksong is only adding to that wealth. I feel like they’re very decent people who succeeded because they love what they do, and are good at it.

It’s actually done much more quickly than anticipated (provided you have an extra drive or at least an extra partition handy). You can just put a live image on a pendrive (with BalenaEtcher or similar tool) and boot from it. You can then install it from the live image, or try another distro through the same process if you don’t like your first pick.
Comfort, familiarity, ignorance. And there’s people like me who use tools that don’t exist on Linux (I dual boot Debian Trixie now, but it’s barely usable)
