I actually heard this on the radio yesterday on the way home and it was a great interview. Makes me want to watch the next generation again

Just wanted to say I agree with everything you said. As a woman who has worked with the public for 30+ years I have never said yes to someone who asked me out while working.
To add to your comment, estate sales are a fantastic place to obtain all the items you just mentioned.
Setting them up is a part of my job, and the sale we just had Saturday had items relating to your post!
Basically could walk out with tons of new hobby materials for under $30. Probably under $20.
Oops wrong date! Meant 2053!
<After the war ended in 2053, humanity slowly began to rebuild civilization and the planet, eliminating sickness, hunger, poverty, and despair within two generations. Earth was mostly restored by the 22nd century as the United Earth Government formed, however there were still some lingering effects from the post atomic horror. Star Trek: Enterprise
This is where that paragraph came from (https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Earth) Cool place if you’re into Star Trek
That would be nice, although remember what started it all in 2063 2053 :/
The world has lost /is losing a lot of food this past year alone. Saw an article that Georgia (US) lost 90% of it’s peaches this season, folks/farms from the Midwest and Canada either couldn’t plant at all due to lack of rain or what was planted has died already.
The dam that was blown up in Ukraine ruined a huge area of farming that has global significance as they exported a lot of grains and oil seeds.
Spain is facing over 60% crop failures and the third year without honey.
Cotton crops from Texas and Spain also at a huge loss.
I am sure there’s more, this is just off the top of my head. It’ll take a little bit for it all to show up, but we are definitely going to be feeling the effects of this by next year I’m sure.
K. B. Wagers is a great author. I started with Behind the Throne and read the whole Indranan War series. Next trilogy was the Farian War. Haven’t read past those although I want to! Her new stuff looks interesting.
I also really like N. K. Jemisin. My favorite is the Dreamblood series.
I always check for OP replies because that’s the fun part! If no OP engagement I usually move on. Also, great comment.
In 1988 when I was in hair school and instructor was diagnosed with HIV and was fired. He wasn’t allowed to do hair anymore either. Lost his job and cosmetology license. Wasn’t allowed to touch people. We weren’t even allowed to talk about it. HIV and AIDS were running rampant and it was buried for years. People were treated as lepers. Wasn’t until a young boy was infected from a blood transfusion that they even took it somewhat seriously. Only 35 years ago.
Had a friend who died from AIDS in 1992 that was infected from a breast implant surgery and tons of folks wouldn’t go to her funeral!
We can cherry pick the hell out of their bible and start refusing so much because most “Christians” aren’t following most of Jesus’s teaching anyway. Hate, hypocrisy, greed and judgmental jerks is what I see constantly. So sick and tired of these assholes
I recommend Khan Academy as well. My daughter got her geography degree in 2020 and is starting back this fall for civil engineering. She was worried as well after the break, especially since she didn’t need a lot of math with her first degree. Khan is what gave her the confidence to go for the new degree! It’s an amazing resource.
Finally had time to watch it tonight and I thought it was great.
I feel like what seemed corny or off was on purpose. Spock is on a learning curve with his emotions/duty conundrum and we certainly felt that.
Looking forward to next week!
I hear ya! I am typically not one to rewatch much, simply because my list of new things is quite large.
