You’re right, this was more common in the warez days. Nowadays, I generally trust Pirates. If you’re stupid and download a game from some rando site, and not a trusted repacker then you deserve what happens.

I’ve switched a few friends to Linux and whenever they have trouble running a game outside steam, I just send them this. Hasn’t failed yet. While I, like many other Linux users enjoy scrolling through logs: this is easier.

I was there last month looking for some safety shoes to replace my redwing boots as I’ve changed roles in my company and don’t need 8" boots anymore. Every single game Larian made would come out on steam in early access, and always with an early access price. When BG3 hit early access with a released game price I was pissed. But then I found out that they were making a game with Wizards of the Coast those greedy fuckers so the price made sense. Still waited almost a year after it was released to buy it, because the released game price was higher than every other fully released Larian game. Fuck WotC and Fuck Hasbro.

I have kleinfelter syndrome, my body doesn’t produce testosterone. I have to take estrogen blockers to prevent my body from making estrogen.
So I’ll be taking TRT injections for the rest of my life. The only real downside to that is knowing prostate cancer is likely, 2 years in and it’s already elevating my PSA levels. Right now my doctor feels I’m too young to worry about it, they only check it on the off chance that my levels spike into dangerous territory.
This was my issue but one day I found out about LinOffice a project that will run office in a container and the windows appear on my KDE desktop as apps. So I looked into it deeper and it says it works alongside something called WimApps (https://github.com/winapps-org/winapps) that lets you also run office but more importantly will work with Creative Cloud. It’s seamless, it’s like I’m running Photoshop on windows. Closing apps can sometimes be wonky but it runs everything I’ve thrown at it.
