Good job
Nice.
The Steam Deck is trying to make Linux gaming more hassle-free, but it’s not like we’ve reached that stage yet. Still, we’re taking steps.
I’m a recent Mint user as well. The transition felt pretty seamless so far.

Good luck. It has certainly helped me.
That alone is a great introduction to Linux.
Never had a calculator watch, let alone a collection of broken ones.
Kim Jong-Un, Supreme Leader of the People’s Democratic Republic of Kardashia
I’m surprised that train can effortlessly reach Marie Byrd Land. It’s so hard to get there that no colonizing country claimed it. And until 2048, nobody CAN claim it.
Most of the tech in my house is at a minimum 3 years old. It all still works just fine, I don’t need new tech.
My phone? 3 years old.
My laptop? Probably 6 years old.
My television? At least 13 years old. HD too. Doesn’t even have the smart TV features that are usually way too slow anyway.
My fridge? Probably older than my sister.
My other computer? As old as the telly. I might need to go fix it since it basically stopped working, and maybe upgrade some components, at least it’s future-proof for as long as it runs a currently up to date supported operating system. Hey, I might put Arch on that, btw.
My microwave? Duh, my whole life, I’ve only had three. And the latest one is 9 years old.
Trust me, I remember seeing an “AI powered” rice cooker. It was just Tefal rebranding their Fuzzy Logic technology. DankPods even made a video on that exact rice cooker.
I’m techie enough to be interested in federated social media networks. I’m techie enough to start using Linux. Ain’t that enough techie?
This place feels like a breath of fresh air. It genuinely helped me cut down on social media usage.
I browse Reddit anonymously nowadays on a web browser. I still absolutely hate the experience. It lags way too much, videos suddenly become “no longer available”, spend enough time and it will yell at you again for getting the app as if it didn’t when you first opened the site (at least it’s not as insistive as Instagram, an even worse website), that new logo reeks of Discord and Android having a baby, and not to mention, comments with a negative karma score are automatically hidden for whatever reason.
I only continue browsing that site to catch up with some communities with no real equivalent on Lemmy.
Have you read the Wayside School books? I haven’t.
Have you watched the cartoon that was based off them? I actually have. And idk, I actually kinda liked it. To me, this is the fun type of “junk food cartoon”. A fun time waster if you will.
Maybe one day I’ll grab one of the books to really figure out if they’re that better than the cartoon adaptation. Maybe the latest one (Wayside School Beneath the Cloud of Doom) will wow me.
I… actually never hated Comic Sans and never understood why it was so hated. I mean, at least everyone knows about it.
I always thought the Algerian font was ugly as hell (it probably has nothing to do with Algeria)
The letters in bold spell “gold”, just in case you didn’t see it.
If Linux didn’t exist, we would actually end up with a lot of e-waste, and I mean a fuck ton of it. And it’s all thanks to you, Microsoft.
Hell, Linux does exist, and people just don’t wanna use it because they’re so used to Windows that anything else is basically as steep of a learning curve as a literal cliff. And to those people I say: “just add some mint on it and life will be easy. Maybe even drizzle some cinnamon on it as well”
I guess dual-booting is still a necessity for some of us, unless you have a single hard drive and your Windows installation decides to randomly break.
