Yeah, Deluge is neat. No, I’m not using Arch. I’m also not a dude, thanks. Here’s your cookie: 🍪
Just a dreamer. About happiness, having a family, especially a sister, the bestest type of friend to have - trust, vibe and be shtoopid with, throw non-sexual love at. Also dreaming about a world where people talk WITH instead ABOUT you.

What joke? And did I say anything against it? I’m literally using it right now. Don’t see what yours or the downvoters issue is. And, well, according to that list Vuze would be the best client. In 2023? wow… Vuze, back then Azureus, sucked 20 years ago already. So damn bloaty and java-y, aka bloat-y… There’s a reason why people jumped on µTorrent back then. :)
What’s wrong with Linuxers in Lemmy anyway? Aside from one time, every time I said something in a Linux community people have been pissy for absolutely no reason. :'D
yay -S deluge-gtk …Yes sorry, I will show myself out.
Back then, when you had your own rootserver, set up with torrentflux-b4rt and then with BitTornado… Good old times…
Hey, I just wanted to let you know, thanks for your input. I followed it, but sadly I can’t go to kernel 5.x in Endeavour either. Well, now I can only hope 6.5 is going to fix it already, because, apparently 6.1 already had that issue I mentioned in my previous post too. I’m… kinda impressed that Fedora, where I had them first, was stable until 6.4. Oh well…
I don’t understand. I was playing Starcraft1 recently just fine via Lutris.
Linux and BSD are superior in almost every way. You could literally run an entire organization on Linux Mint as the desktop.
Hope this company organization isn’t running on AMD though, because, omg I swear I’m going to freak out here if they don’t fix it already… These random freezes, multiple times a day, while you where doing… nothing, aside from maybe typing something. A task that shouldn’t bother a 2000€ machine at all…
Kernel 6.x was a mistake.
amdgpio invalid config param 0014
Distros with “apt” …Updater breaks at some point for me, because an installed package is newer than expected. …However that’s possible? The terminal then said I could try fixing that with some command it even provides. But… it doesn’t fix it.
Manjaro …Updater breaks at some point for me if I dare to use 2 or 3 things from AUR.
Currently it’s not possible to use openSUSE with AMD hardware, because there’s a kernel bug regarding the AMD drivers (which leads to random freezes and reboots multiple times a day), and openSUSE doesn’t provide any way to downgrade the kernel to before 6.4 …if you’re feeling lucky you can opt-in to try 6.5-RC though. In 6.5 the issue got fixed by accident, as in “nobody knows what did it”, but it was still annoying for laptop users, as you need to manually start games with DRI_PRIME=1 %command%
as 6.5 apparently is still unable to toggle between iGPU and dGPU, an issue also introduced with 6.4, as far I remember.
Right now I’m on Debian, because Debian is using the 6.1 kernel and with 6.1 the world was still okay. But, Debian is more work than I expected. Before Debian I had the impression that Linux is easy and “just works”. Yes, really… But in Debian I first needed to modify the sudoers, then I was unable to use the “pip” command in the terminal… meanwhile I am able to use the command, but it doesn’t what I want it to do. Then native Lutris tells me something about missing drivers. Flatpak Lutris tells me something about esync. Can’t install native Steam because apt tells me that something is missing, but it also says it’s unable to provide it. …et cetera.
I’m since the 6.4 kernel so damn annoyed, really… Oh well, but I have a spine, dislike Microsoft for various reasons and I hated Windows10 after only one day. …And, if someone understands German and read my post history here, oh well, it’s okay, my life’s overall shit… A semi-useless Debian is still a lot better than a Fedora or openSUSE that freezes multiple times a day for absolutely no reason aside from “amdgpio invalid info param 0014” (at least that is what openSUSE shows me when I force reboot…)
If that is too far offtopic or something… I will throw a coin into the Ubuntu box. Fck Canonical.
Narrator: Win against stronger opponents and try to build the ultimative deck!
Heh… An ultimate deck you want? Let me help you… Nyahahaha~ You only need this card. The only Pokemon in the entire deck… The rest fill up with potions and electric energy. Lv68-(GB)-Zapdos is even better than Exodia…
I read today, that the issue got fixed in 6.5-RC2 by accident. Because nobody knows what it did it wasn’t backported to 6.4.x yet.
…I just upgraded to 6.5-RC4. If you don’t see me whining under this comment in future then it means that it fixed the issue.
I’m unsure. I’m having freezes since multple kernel updates after 6.4… Right now I’m on 6.4.6. In the link provided some person from AMD says that it got fixed and someone commented that 6.4.7 fixed it for them. But then you have eg this Reddit post and someone said their issues started with 6.4.7. And I read somewhere that downgrading to 6.1-LTS fixed it for them.
If you’re using AMD hardware, there’s currently an issue with the AMD-drivers within the 6.4.x kernel… It’s so annoying when the laptop randomly freezes multiple times a day while you were just writing text… Hope they’re going to fix that soon.
(I have a Ryzen9 5800HX and a Radeon RX6800)
As an expert for horrible wording myself… ahem I just want to point out, that Mark the Canonical dude said at some point that worrying about privacy as Ubuntu user is stupid because “We have root. You trust us with your data already.”. …uhhhhhhhhhh… ok? That was really… really unluckily worded. Even for me. And trust me. I’m an expert for unlucky wording and my life could be SO different if I wasn’t an autistic dumbfuck people are scared of when I actually and genuinly like or even love them… 😭
I don’t see the issue. The Steam Deck uses a modified version of Arch Linux. What stops Nintendo from just bringing a device that is mainly a mobile console but with phone features? Like, the PlayStation Vita (Had a sim-slot. 3G. SMS. Skype. some other apps) went really really good in Japan. In the west it died directly after birth, because who had good 3G at that time? And because the marketing in the west failed. First they claimed it would be a mobile PS3, and when PS4 came they degraded the Vita to “A device that streams your PS4”. Wow… blah… Did you know that PlayStation runs on a modified FreeBSD? BSD is in the Unix family. Like Linux and macOS are. They’re like everywhere. In most supercomputers and like the ISS. Just the desktop PC space is… reserved and believes for some reason nothing would work without Windows.
The Steam Deck, which runs Arch Linux, proves to the unbelieving masses that you can play games on Linux just fine, even if they’re made for Windows… And if you take a moment to think about it… It, a Linux device, runs games that are made for WIndows… Which means they’re way more complex than phone games… Then that’s actually massive. Also, did you ever try to insert a PlayStation disc into an XBox?
Nintendo wouldn’t need to make their own OS for phones, they could just customize a Linux too… Really, what’s the issue? …No, for real, there’s Linux for phones. I mean, actual Linux. Not this horribly crippled abomination, that due to all the spyware they have by default leechs the battery within a day, Google created, called Android. …Yes, that’s a Linux too, as very sad and depressing one. – Then, what’s iOS? A macOS, basically. Anyway, do you understand where I’m coming from? Phones basically run Unixoids. As said, the Windows PC and the XBox (it runs Windows too, both block the development of gaming with Microsofts proprietary and exclusive DirectX garbage.) are basically the only aliens in computing. They’re so alien, that people for some reaons can’t even imagine that a company as powerful as Nintendo could make a phone. wow… Hilarious. :D Aside from the GameCube all Nintendo consoles are so damn underpowered, it kinda makes me believe they trained all their console-gaming life for doing something like heir own phone or whatever. The Gameboy series and the DS series always had ARM based CPUs. The Switch uses an Nvidia Tegra, literally a tablet processor. Really hope Switch2 or Nintendo Phone has an eShop that doesn’t lag this horribly like the Switch1 one does.
At least that’s how I imagine it, without thinking on it for long.
There’s currently an AMD driver related bug within the 6.x Linux kernel that lead to random freezes. It’s so annoying, can’t even use my laptop as a typewriter. I was using Fedora and openSUSE until five days ago. Currently on EndeavourOS, as Arch-based distros get updates the fastest. Hope 6.5 is going to fix that already.
