The harasement from the hyperland project got so bad they are banned from FreeDesktop.org and I’ve seen how many talented people gave up on working on the Linux ecosystem because of that.
Right to repair does not match well with right wing politics (TL;DR AuthRight need control and in lib-right absolute capitalism having reparable stuff is a surefire to kill your company ) but it’s a murky and difficult subject so I understand why it’s not mentioned.

There is 4 lanes, you can remove one or two and set train tracks which don’t have a lot of constraints compared to cars due to train wheel being steel and having better adherence.
People who still need car for whatever reason can use the remaining lanes and have less trafic since train are a lot more efficient than car at moving people.
If you are woried about the swap I’m sure care exaust and tires particles which are know to damage environement a lot. Trains are electric so at least polution will be localized near power plants and thoose can be eventualy replaced by renewables.
According to gmaps there is a 4 lane highway between atlanta and orlando, I’m pretty sure you can squeeze train tracks there.
It would absolutly make sense ? Especially if there are night trains that go slower and can help you get rest without paying an hotel.

Why isn’t there high speed rail ??? The distance is only 700km ( 440 miles ) a french TGV can easily go over 300 km/h ( 185 mph ) so a direct line would at most be 2h30, given a plane boarding time it’s very competitive, conveninent and at a fraction of the operating cost.

I’m french and I can tell you in a software developement context AI is worse than existing tool like deepL, maybe it work better in afrikaans and if that’s the case good we finally have an use case ! sadly being ok at translating thing is not what thoose model are selled on and even if it were : it’s still not worth the cost

LLM translation are hazardous at best and we already a lot of translation tools already. Templating systems are older than me and even so no one in their right mind should trust a non deterministic tool to draft documents.
Voice recognition is not limited to siri, I just used the most know exemple. Local assitant have existed long before LLMs and didn’t require this much ressources. You are once again moving the goal post. Find one real world use that offset the downside.
