God forbid you have to make an additional account that takes 2mins so you can do your pirating! Only people complaining probably aren’t worth listening to, and don’t really understand how the fediverse is meant to work.

Then don’t use lemmy.world it’s that simple. Communities can have whatever outside connections they want. Lemmy.world is the big normie/liberal/redditor instance. If that’s not what you want you can always join another instance closer to your tastes/beliefs/management style.
Seriously, at least on Jerboa you can literally just swap between accounts. You can subscribe to certain communities on each account or just filter by All. People complain too much.
I don’t mean to shit on anyone who would rather use an open source decentralized platform over privately owned Reddit, but Lemmy.World is definitely the most obnoxious large instance, with a lot of people still holding over a lot of those reddit toxicity mannerisms. On top of that the admins/devs of that instance are always having major technical issues that they can’t seem to overcome. Wish them the best though.
I mean I’m surprised by the child porn part
You know that’s not how this works.
I know this is a Saddam meme but can we get a community for cool cross section postings
Then good thing when they developed the platform they didn’t make it a legal requirement for you to make an account and browse only Lemmygrad.
I read Altruism as Autism, and honestly I think it should be added to the list.
You’re telling me every technological innovation before 1750~ wasn’t done purely for the sake of profits and shareholders?!? HOW WAS THAT ALLOWED!?
You can subscribe to subs that don’t talk about it and unsubscribe from the ones that do.
There will be a lot of growing pains as communities take time to migrate over, discuss the drama, have new communities created, seeing over time which ones are moderated in ways you enjoy.
Tldr: take it easy, you and the communities will sort themselves out in time.
/r/politics is just DNC lib screeching and astroturfing. Nothing leftist about it. At least not since Sanders lost the primaries in 2016. That was the first major shift there.
Also that your karma/up votes don’t accumulate. So people aren’t Karma chasing.
So real progress is being made then. ♥️
It honestly depends on your local municipality. Where I live they don’t take anything but straight up hard plastic that is cleaned, and clean cardboard, cleaned tin cans. Anything else they don’t process. And even then they’re probably throwing out the whole truck of recyclables cause one dingus didn’t clean out a can and it got tomato soup on everything else. Recycling is honestly a scam in America, especially once China stopped buying our waste years ago.
The ICC does not have the right to take diplomatic immunity away from leaders of recognized nations. That’s not how this works.
People who think you can solve all problems by stating that you are in the moral right, instead of fighting for what you believe in, really show their true colors of being woefully ignorant to how history has always worked. This end of history neoliberal narrative has truly rotted peoples brains and made them unable to intellectually understand how to stand up for themselves.
What makes you think we’re not outgunned?
Even in the US where you can own firearms, your 5.56 rounds aren’t going to do shit against an armored vehicle, or handle drone strikes or national guard elements. Yet liberals are frothing at the mouth to take guns away from the working class, when personal firearms are already woefully inadequate for fighting against a tyrannical government.
Yeah this is the case for any revolution. I’ve been reading “The Constitution and other writings of the founding fathers” and it’s interesting to see all the rhetoric and mental preparation they took before firing even the first shot. The tension was palpable and the colonists were already resolved to fight a war they knew would not end quickly. Most notably over things we just bend over and take nowadays.
The average citizen today does not have the same sense of responsibility and duty to preserving freedom and democracy like they did back then. Sometimes I wonder if people in the west are too soft in resolve and dedication to really revolt in any meaningful capacity, beyond a few days of protesting. No matter what the issue/ideology at hand is.
You know they are gonna have a special EU model. I can feel it.
