Personally, I find myself only subscribing to and browsing communities on the local instance. The idea of the Fediverse is cool and all, but it’s just way too much information for one person to process.
The Great Digg Migration was way bigger and Digg was never the same after that. If Lemmy gets a couple more big waves from Reddit, it could mean the end for Reddit as it currently is.

A community is essentially a subreddit. As far as I know, there isn’t really an official term for it yet. I have been calling them ‘sublemmys’.
