gnutrino@programming.devto World News@lemmy.world•IDF claimed Hamas tunnel was under Gaza hospital, but showed footage of nearby schoolEnglish228·8 days agoYou’re also not really supposed to dig military tunnels under schools…
I reckon you could manage a towel with a bit of lube and some sort of stick to help it on its way.
I believe in you, you’ve got this.
Right? I had a fresh mug of coffee to the left of me when I read it, feels like the scalding alone would make that worse than a bo staff without even getting into the damage a shattering mug could do.
gnutrino@programming.devto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•incredible that this was a show for childrendEnglish39·25 days agoFun fact: the producers were only allowed a pregnancy storyline on the condition that it not last more than 34 episodes.
For more information google “peppa pig rule 34”
gnutrino@programming.devto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•incredible that this was a show for childrendEnglish21·25 days agoThey’re not humans though, they’re cartoon pigs. And cartoon pigs fucking is a fairly niche porn category.
gnutrino@programming.devto Technology@lemmy.world•Lab-grown teeth might become an alternative to fillings following research breakthroughEnglish13·27 days agoWe have different ideas to put the teeth inside the mouth. We could transplant the young tooth cells at the location of the missing tooth and let them grow inside mouth. Alternatively, we could create the whole tooth in the lab before placing it in the patient’s mouth.
I assume option 1 at least would lead to the nerve connections naturally growing as the tooth does. Regardless, this still seems in the super early lab-proof-of-concept stage so I guess the ultimate answer is we don’t know yet.

gnutrino@programming.devto World News@lemmy.world•‘They cannot be jammed’: fibre optic drones pose new threat in UkraineEnglish4·30 days agoIt’s also not going to explode so probably less of an issue on the whole than all the UXO there…

gnutrino@programming.devto World News@lemmy.world•‘They cannot be jammed’: fibre optic drones pose new threat in UkraineEnglish9·30 days agoThey literally describe it as “the size of a forearm” so that about tracks with 3-4 inches diameter.
That was the guy’s dog being excited to meet new people, I remember the reddit thread.
gnutrino@programming.devto World News@lemmy.world•China could sink all US carriers in 20 minutes, Pentagon chief warnsEnglish8·1 month agoMost claimed “hypersonic” missiles can’t actually manoeuvre at those speeds so you can spot them at distance and work out where you need to send an interceptor missile. We saw this with Patriot batteries vs Kinzhal in Ukraine.

gnutrino@programming.devto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Remember when she fucked up the economyEnglish28·1 month agoIt’s far from universal, the impression probably comes from the general left leaning bias of online Brits and the fact that people that don’t like her tend to really fucking hate her due to her policies leading to the complete devastation of entire communities.
gnutrino@programming.devto World News@lemmy.world•Trump’s massive ‘reciprocal’ tariffs upend global tradeEnglish4·1 month agoThose would count as services which Trump explicitly excluded from his calculation, presumably so that he could claim the US has a larger trade deficit than it actually does. Although given he basically pulled the formula out of his ass anyway I’m not sure why he bothered to fudge the numbers as well.
gnutrino@programming.devto World News@lemmy.world•Live Updates on the Global Market: China raises its retaliatory tariff on the US to 84% effective April 10English12·1 month agoWhile that is true, I do think there is an opportunity for the EU to get a real economic and diplomatic boost by strengthen ties with the traditional western allies in the Pacific now that America is torching its bridges there. Whether or not it can manage to get all member states to agree quickly enough to actually take that opportunity is a different matter though…
gnutrino@programming.devto World News@lemmy.world•US Treasuries sell-off deepens as ‘safe haven’ status challengedEnglish6·1 month agoEuros or rmb as the new reserve currency? Place your bets now (literally if you like).
I believe that would be MarketAxess (MKTX) which largely deals in bonds AFAIK. Given that bonds are the traditional safe haven asset when traders see the market shitting the bed, them doing well isn’t necessarily the best sign for overall market health…
