€250 is a hard price point but a Samsung A series is probably going to give the best performance for the money.
I use it on android as it’s privacy focused and allows encrypted sync across devices.
Works for me as I’m a phone and tablet only user with no desktop to organise sync.
I’ve tried others like Firefox but don’t like the interface on android tablet , no tabs so is just a bloated phone app. I tried opera but it doesn’t support my password manager so I’ve ended up sticking with Vivaldi and to be honest it’s a good overall experience.

Dalë@feddit.ukto Google Pixel@lemmy.world•If you couldn't have a Google Pixel, what would be your "close second"?English3·2 years agoI moved from a Xiaomi Mi11 to a P7. My decision was based largely on the camera but also the phone have relatively good reviews.
Camera A+, battery (for my use case) A+, however first time travelling with the phone has been a disaster. Android auto constantly disconnecting causing navigation nightmare. Can’t log onto hotel WiFi connects disconnects so basically using 4G always for the week away.
I think next phone work be back to Xiaomi I’ve really been unimpressed.
WhatsApp because where I am it’s pretty much the default app for everyone, friends, family etc, WhatsApp is the go to app here.
Was taken with am iPhone 7 plus. Frame and b&w hint added in post.
Mainly mobile gaming with a Samsung Tab S6, with pc games via Nvidia Geforce.
I don’t really play enough PC games to justify a gaming rig/laptop.
Dalë@feddit.ukto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What Happened to lemmy.fmhy.ml? What Happens if an Instance Disappears?1·2 years agoMe too. I’ve now migrated to feddit.uk , I was lucky that I had locally cached pages for my subscriptions so I was able to replicate them, all be it manually, but at least i now have a new instance with all my subs.
Dalë@feddit.ukto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What does your 'home' instance really matter?English2·2 years agoLooks like I was wrong and it appears that Mali has been recaliming the .ml domain that they were using, so hopefully they’ll be back. According to the post they have backups etc. so once they sort out a new domain they may be back. Fingers crossed.
Dalë@feddit.ukto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What does your 'home' instance really matter?English1·2 years agoThe comments/posts I made on other instances via that account are still there and i’m guessing will remain so but bookmarks/subscriptions etc. start from scratch.
Dalë@feddit.ukto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What does your 'home' instance really matter?English4·2 years agoNot entirely sure but it was a piracy focused instance so best guess is they recieved a takedown request.

I joined lemmy.fmhy.ml which has now disappeared, from what I gather they received a take down notice.
So whilst but important which instance in general being with a reputable one can matter.
Capitalism itself isn’t really the problem though, a free market economy should work. The issue is that the owners, be they corporate or private, don’t view their workforces the same way.
The greed of those at the top is crippling the very people that are driving the economy.
Ah yes, another lie from the brexiteer brigade which is a gift for future generations to live with.
