I’m not paid well at my current job but it’s also close and I can walk/bike.
I’m looking at jobs that pay me a lot more and it’s not worth it since I have to buy, license, and maintain a car then on top of that I’m driving into work, which blows.

You again! Do you post more tame content on lemmy.ml and keep the bonkers on lemmygrad? If so, that’s appreciated.
Some actual low-res examples:
Overrated. The real perk is learning how to not eat it all at once
I would shocked if apple tried breaking into console wars.
I’ll even be surprised if any of the handhelds other than steamdeck + switch survive the decade.
I know way too little about this to have an actual opinion about it. I read the article just as a way to learn more about what’s going on with those people right now. At the very least their lives are ruined, and we’re mostly just hearing from the refugees.
Ending quote: The man blames the former Afghan government under Ashraf Ghani and the international coalition, which operated in the country for 20 years, for “everything falling apart so quickly.” “We have lost everything, even our hope for the future. We’re living in a country of lies, a country that no longer exists,” he concludes.

There’s more! It looked comprehensive to me but just because it was a massive list.
Why don’t you show us some proof that google search is unchanged compared to what it was 10 years go.

I basically switch to firefox until something I need doesn’t work, then I go back to chrome until they do something scummy. I’m back on firefox now and the experience is better than previously. I will probably stay and keep Chrome for “just in case” stuff or when I want a browser with no privacy/adblock extensions.

My primary is gmail and my secondary is proton mail but I haven’t ever warmed up to proton mail. It’s been a few years.
I ask it to save my login and yet I always need log in again. Maybe their sessions expire by default, whereas gmail will keep me signed in until I clear my browser. Neither gmail or protonmail load very quickly, but proton mail is noticeably worse.
Society isn’t a tree it’s a machine so we can bend it all we like.
I think this conversation is more about office workers than site workers. You need to get on site to do the work but office workers don’t need to actually go in, they are being told they have to come in and the time needed to adhere to an enforced policy should be included in the work day.
