For the purposes of the argument, you are you. You are in your current situation. You wake up tomorrow morning with either a lack of legs or a lack of reading ability. Which is preferable?
Would you, in your situation currently, survive financially if you woke up tomorrow without the ability to read or write?
This pizza place opened in an area that is flush with well established takeaway spots. We ordered from it once and it was BAD. The bases were frozen and the meat was clearly sandwich meat from a supermarket. Whenever we pass it by, it’s open but there are NEVER any customers.
The online reviews are bizarre, they’re either one star reviews with detailed explanations of how shitty the food is or 5 star reviews with no comments.
Yet somehow this place is STILL open despite being surrounded by superior competition and always being empty. There is absolutely no way it’s not a front for something.
Hi fellow teacher 👋
I read the opposite, that it stops your blood from clotting if you apply it onto a cut!

Does anyone have evidence for Vaseline being good for wounds? This thread was the first place I read it and I’m still skeptical!
I use it for my lips btw. Only after I’ve brushed my teeth. I used to use it on dry skin in the winter when my skin would literally crack from the cold but that hasn’t been a problem for a good few years thankfully!
Drive!!! What a gorgeous film. I was about to comment that it’s my most rewatched too.
I recently googled “grass” to find out more about different species and the results were all trying to sell me grass.
Grass.
Where I live it’s as common as dirt. I wonder how many people Google the word “grass” with zero qualifiers when trying to BUY grass.
Ffs
This is incredible
Edit: just noticed she’s even got fangs. In crying
I was taught how to type on a keyboard. I much prefer using my phone to type things because I can do it in any position rather than sitting at a desk.
It’s hard work but someone’s gotta do it
It’s not a phase, dad! I’m gonna be a holy fool forever!

I actually have an account on tumblr! Had to delete the app because I was spending a crazy amount of time on it 🤣 I liked r/tumblr for that reason, it was like a highlight reel of all the best tumblr had to offer, plus it was one of the loveliest and funniest communities when it came to commenting. The tumblr sense of humour is part of my DNA now, for better or worse. I will never hear “I beg your pardon” in the same way ever again.
Apologies in advance bc I’ll probably be putting more tumblr screenshots here in the future!
Can’t hold it in one hand while playing cards with the other, ergo not a sandwich.
I quite like Beehaw and their Be(e) nice philosophy. Angry online arguments aren’t for me personally and it’s nice to be part of a space that promotes a more chilled out vibe. Plus it seems there are plenty of other instances that are OK with the usual online bickering we’ve all become accustomed to over the years so if I ever want to read another heated argument about what constitutes a grilled cheese I know where to go haha!
I’m really going to miss my local subreddit. They were a moany bunch, but they were my moany bunch.
Thanks for your detailed answer, I really liked it. Apologies if this question was offensive to you, I had this discussion recently and it made me think a lot about how much time I spend using my literacy skills vs getting around. Then it got me thinking about how accessible lots of buildings where I live are. A friend of mine had a family member come to visit in a wheelchair recently and pointed out that lots of places that tourists usually visit are exempt from accessibility requirements because they’re situated in older buildings. One of my biggest shames in one of my previous jobs was being told I had to turn down a group of students coming to take a course in the school I was working in because we couldn’t accommodate one of their classmates in a wheelchair. Like, my gut tells me that’s straight up illegal 🫤 but maybe where I live it’s not. I left that job not long after so I don’t know if there were any repercussions.
There’s a big push to revitalise the city I live in at the moment regarding opening up public spaces and making them more attractive to citizens and this is something that I haven’t seen discussed openly in relation to that yet so I will keep an eye out for it!
