*taps on forehead Can’t get brought into a pyramid scheme by a high school friend if you didn’t have any friends in high school

Similar story… My cousin who i never hear from, she calls me on my birthday. I’m like holy shit! Cool. How ya doin?!
She was trying to sell me some sort of phone service. After bowing out of that call, she got pissed and never called me again. That was years ago.

Dude from high school contacted me out of nowhere. “You seem like you’re good with people. I’ve got an opportunity for you!” Me: “I’m an engineer with autism, what do you think?”

He seemed truly surprised that I wouldn’t jump at the opportunity. And to top it off, he never could tell me exactly what he was trying to sell.

So glad I’m no longer on any social media platforms where these people hunt. I left Facebook (for unrelated reasons) shortly after I got an invite to someone’s Oriflame page. :D

I remember a couple of years ago someone from high school (2 years ahead of me) messaged me out of the blue. I never really interacted with that person even back in high school, and their opening message was asking if I had zoom. Checked out her profile and as expected, MLM.

Hey man! I just started getting into crypto – I know, I know, it’s an unstable market. But I’ve been hitting numbers like 1200% on my returns! Any interest in joining the movement?

Come to think of it, Tartakovsky’s Grevious, vs. George Lucas’s Grevious would make a great expectations vs. reality template.

They could also be a junkie. I had a friend from HS contact me and when I responded, she said “I have a drug problem and live in a motel and have no money. Could you give me some?” Like point blank, no subtlety at all. I felt bad but blocked her.

love when it’s for those weight loss wraps. “i was a dickhead in school to you, and now the only reason i’m contacting you is to tell you you’re fat and steal your money.” incredible.
