Oh really? I used to be a SATAnist. Now I converted to NVMe.
Satanism is weird.
It’d be one of the most logical philosophies ever developed if it were to strip off all the supernatural layer. Symbolism, imagery, “SIKRET HANDSHAKES!”.
I mean, seriously… 🤭
A big part of the point is to encourage people to keep religion out of politics. Christianity is by far the most popular set of religions in the USA. They quite often cave and stop trying to add religion to political institutions when the Satanists win lawsuits to be included too. It wouldn’t be nearly as effective without using the Christian mythology.
So, at least two people didn’t bother to read the article.
There is nothing supernatural about Satanism, though…
My brother in Christ… It’s in the name itself.
It’s not called “humanism”, after all…
I don’t believe that Satan is real. Most Satanists don’t. It’s about the myth of Satan.
Look at it this way. You’ve seen a movie or read a book and been inspired by the story, even though you knew it was fictional, right? Satanism is the same way.
It’s about the myth of Satan.
A myth about supernatural beings doing supernatural stuff, correct?
You’ve seen a movie or read a book and been inspired by the story, even though you knew it was fictional, right? Satanism is the same way.
I’ve seen many movies featuring fictional stories or not. Plenty of them featured supernatural elements, plenty of them did not. Satanism features them, which is, eh… 😉
I think y’all are getting a few things mixed up. There are parts of Satanism that are not spiritual or supernatural whatsoever.
It’s right there in the 7 Tenets.
Beliefs should conform to one’s best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one’s beliefs.
Supernatural belief doesn’t fit with a scientific understanding of the world.
And there are parts that are, correct?
Yes
And that’s the bottom line.
Stone cold Steve Austin, is that you?
It’s not called “humanism”, after all…
That only seems witty because you clearly have little understanding of what satanism and humanism actually are beyond spelling.
I can cite all LaVey’s “keys” from memory, and have a degree in philosophy, if that helps. 🤠
It does not. Anton LaVey is part of the Church of Satan and has little to do with the philosophy of The Satanic Temple that we are discussing here.
