Then your Granddad suddenly forgets about the reason he can’t work forcing his daughter to graft day and night to provide for the 5 of them.
On the one hand, being friends with people who have severe chronic illnesses, and living with someone with progressively degeneraating mobility due to chronic illness, I can say with absolute certainty that after long enough of being laid down and mostly immobile, some of them absolutely COULD jump up out of bed on excitement and manage to walk the rest of the day. They will all pay for it for a week or more but neuro divergent people don’t all have the bet impulse control.
ON the other hand… FUCK grandpa Joe.
Grandpa Joe sucks but what @EggInDisguise@lemmy.blahaj.zone said is accurate. I am disabled since the age of 8. I can do things with different bursts of excitement and energy but I will 100% pay for it later.
Like, I work a full time job in the federal government with several severe neurological disabilities, but I lay around on the weekends to recover from the preceding week.
Are you the hookrr? Is that how this works??
