Fun fact, it’s one of the main reasons you have to wait so long at the emergency room, at least here in Sweden, there have even been information campaigns targeted to young adults about stomach pain and its causes and what you can and should try yourself. Hangover, constipation and poor diet being the most common causes of going to the emergency room with stomach pain and at most being sent home with some laxatives and non-prescription pain killers.

My dad went to the ER yesterday because he was constipated for like a day and a half. We suggested you know, drinking water, eating some soup, chilling out… Wouldn’t listen to us and got angry “you don’t know what I’m feeling!!”. Then got there… and had diarrhea so they gave him advice about that. Some people really have no ability to judge or treat their own minor health problems. I guess it’s better than ignoring it.

I’m 27 with Ulcerative Colitis (IBD) and I almost died with it when I shat blood for a month along with diarrhea. I had to get a blood transfusion and I think iron infusions. Also had c diff. I don’t take chances when I’ve problems with my stomach or bowels now.
