As of this moment, the instance has 108 official users, by Lemmy’s metrics. In terms of subscribers:
c/startrek: 145
c/daystrominstitute: 75
c/risa: 20
How do those numbers square with the number of users? I have no idea! But either way…
It’s been a long road
That’s just on this instance, not counting people subcribing across the Fediverse. At this rate of growth- within the next decade startrek.website will have more users than atoms in the universe.
I foresee no issues with this extrapolation.
Seems only logical.
Fun will now commence.
Hello! Glad someone created a Star Trek specific instance! Congratulations on reaching 100+ users already.
@ValueSubtracted
Instance users are only local users.
Community users include remote users who remotely subscribed to the community. So the community users will always be higher than the number of instance users.
And it still doesn’t count lurkers like we who reply to a thread without subscribing.

Grats on crossing 100 users.

Hi, y’all! I think federated users count in the numbers, and I’m one of them. :)
You could say, there’s other planets in the Federation
me too!
Welcome to the Lemmy Party!
Hi from Beehaw!!!
Very excited to keep my star trek fix alive!
Maybe you should edit the post to say 200 now!
🎶Getting from there to here🎵
I set up my own kbin instance and am subscribed there. Do those numbers include federated subscribers like me?
As I understand it, you would count as a “subscriber” but not a “user,” as the users are those registered directly with us.
And for the record, our current numbers are 2.13k local users, and 6.88k subscribers!
Live long and prosper, c/startrek! 🖖
Oh yeah are we going to get banned for nothing here too or is it cool to have varying opinions now?

Alright sorry jeez
Probably depends on what your opinion is, if your opinion is “all [minority] should be killed” you’ll likely get banned :D
Well good. On r/StarTrek “Discovery wasn’t great” was enough for a ban

Ok you guys definitely win most hostile lemmy community so far. Many people had this issue with the subreddit. It was a legitimate question

Try to be nicer to people, please

Don’t be a dick challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)

Hopefully we don’t end up with the same shit snowflake moderators as /r/StarTrek

How about just some free speech, open discussion, and diversity of ideas, instead of the Paramount corporate slugheads curating everything?
