I never stated I don’t personally agree with the premise
caused some controversy from what I’ve seen
If you look up “Capitalism is good Sabine” on Youtube you’ll see all the videos I was referring to. I was actually giving the original video the “benefit of the doubt” versus how many counter videos were out there.
While all of that is true, I don’t feel like that’s a stance I wish to take. How do you bridge that gap so that other’s can come out of that space? Berating a child for their beliefs does little in the long run if they have an echo chamber they can retreat to. I completely understand if that’s not your concern and you would rather not waste the time with science deniers, it can be dangerous and frustrating as you’ve stated.
Very true, any recommendations that you enjoy? For the most part as I stated it’s useful for certain topics that come up when someone’s discussing some woowoo, it’s hard for them to sit down and go through a whole course when the context of what they’re discussing doesn’t come up. There’s also the problem of being slightly educated in a topic but then falling down a rabbit hole thinking it’s all legit (quantum subject matter seems to be particularly susceptible).
I’ve watched that channel in the past, been meaning to check out that latest “capitalism is good” video that’s hit my feed and caused some controversy from what I’ve seen. I’m hoping there’s just context that’s being missed and the video is actually decent.
I’ve been suspecting this is one of those “do 200% horrible damages but increases revenue (or at least make the company seem more profitable)” then have a “management change” that comes in as the savoir but they only roll back 10% of the changes to show they’ve fixed things.
I was simply replying what I thought the OP meant since no one was responding to the “Why?”. I do not condone or agree with the original unpopular opinion, but it’s nice to see that downvotes continue to be used for agreeing/disagreeing with statements instead of their intended usage.
How do you feel about government subsidies being used to bolster a free press? From past examples like oil, they don’t become a shell company of the governments whims and I feel journalism is just as important to an educated populace in comparison to oil for our commerce.
I think it’s something along the same vein as an overweight fitness instructor. I think it’s an innate requisite that if someone is presenting as a professional, that has instructions for us to follow, that they at least have the appearance of following their own guidelines.
Concentrate on only one aspect of the game that you think you’ll enjoy and the rest becomes side-play you can enjoy leisurely. For instance I was on a huge korok seed hunt with BOTW because I love collecting things like that. As I cleared an area I would move further out and slowly got into the open world like that.
For another style of game I concentrated on just mining with Eve online because it’s so information dense you will overwhelm yourself trying to learn the basics of everything. Few days of mining and I was excited about trying out some combat missions etc.
Just don’t look at the overall picture, focus on a mini aspect of the game and expand from there.
My problem with the “free API” is there are no control mechanisms for it. What’s to stop Reddit from discontinuing the free contract if they decide to develop their own specific use App? A creator or developer of any said App will be beholden to bend or subjugate themselves to the whims of Reddit admins, any controversial comments or events like that of Apollo could nullify the free API if they don’t approve of your actions.
It’s a slippery slope and we’ve already been shown that Reddit can and will change/vilify anyone who doesn’t fall in line especially when IPO time comes.
You’re conflating the meme’s argument with a whole host of problems designed to segregate and let companies profiteer off of single-family housing.
