You could argue that Putin killed Navalny the moment he sent him to the prison camp.
I mean, they have shopping carts with coin-bonds in them, how bad could it be?!
Who hurt you?
TikTok OBJECTIVELY collects far lesser data than Big Tech apps and services
This is not true for a number of reasons, first being that once the data gets sent to a Chinese server, it’s gone. It’s like a void. Those “data collections analysis” can speculate, but they truly have no idea what happens with that data. Another reason that TikTok is as bad as Instagram, is that they farmed all the data from the in-app browser. Every click, scroll, everything.
You can argue that they have a different approach to data farming, and they do: they try and rope you in, trick you into giving them your data. But it’s demonstrable wrong to say that they collect less data. I wouldn’t say they collect more data than typical west social media platforms, but I think it’s disingenuous to say they’re somehow better.
It’s almost like politics touches on every aspect of the lives we live, from the brick we stand in to the air we breathe.
What if I told you that throwing more developers at a problem != that problem getting solved faster?
If it’s within your financial means, please donate to Yuzu
Are you absolutely joking? I’m not donating one cent to those clowns. I hate Nintendo and corporations with a passion, but Yuzu coding their emulator to support an un-release game – and making money off of it – is obviously the most illegal shit. There’s literally no way for emulating a pre-release game to be legal – how would you legally obtain a ROM of that? They did this to themselves. They’re going to way of Bowser rather than other emulators.
Edit: Oh would you look at that, looks like Yuzu settled and is paying Nintendo 2.4 million dollars. That’s weird for a “”“non-profit open source project”“” to do.
I could, good point. I do disable plugins for clients so they can’t beat up their own website too much.
Still, there are legitimate uses for opening a site in a new tab; e.g. when it’s an external website. I don’t think I should automate that, since there’s a granularity in there.
I maintain a couple of Wordpress installations for clients, where new link targets are the same page, as you’d expect.
They still, somehow, manually check “link opens in new tab”. I don’t know why some of these boomers are allowed to use computers, I swear.
I still hope for federation of Threads. I just wanna be on my own non-Facebook server, but be able to communicate with that domain. Like with email.
the person saying “I hate it when editors do it” is really not understanding why this is a feature and not a bug.
No, I get that it’s not a bug. I just don’t like it, personally, and want to be able to turn it off. Don’t know where read that I thought it was a bug.
I mean, I don’t like it, and I’m kinda fine with it being the default if most of the people want it. I just think we should be able to turn it off.
🤮
This reminds me of text editor that leave half a screen of ‘wiggle room’ when scrolling down. Absolutely hate it, and if I can’t turn it off, I won’t use the text editor.
I’M OUT OF TOUCH WITH MY PARENTS SINCE THEY’RE QUACKS BUT I STILL APPRECIATE THE SENTIMENT BROTHER
I LET MY FOUND FAMILY KNOW HOW IMPORTANT THEY ARE TO ME AROOOO
I was reading the blog post by the casino’s tech person and kept thinking to myself, “this is a casino; they may not be the most reliable narrator”. That said, CF was also stupid slow on taking down kiwi and stormfront, so they’re not great either.
Both of them suck and this whole thing is amusing to me. Hopefully this will serve to improve CF’s behaviour.
