I recently had to stop taking my vyvanse due to some bad side effects and holy shit I forgot how bad this was
FYI you are probably also dealing with withdrawal in addition to being unmedicated. Getting off of meds after having been on them is a very different experience from never having been medicated.
The Klingon restaurant on DS9 was more of a sit-down restaurant IIRC
Makes sense. AAVE is mostly a spoken thing, LLMs are mostly trained on the corpus of written text on the internet and in books. It’s pretty rare for people to write in an AAVE style in those contexts.
This reminds me of a method of trying to evaluate art in an objective way. Basically you ask yourself 3 questions:
If the answers to 2 and 3 are “yes”, then it’s probably a good work of art. This helps remove the subjectivity of “do I enjoy it?” when evaluating a work.
I would say the answers for Desert Bus indicate that it is indeed a good work of art. It succeeds in being a monotonous parody of a video game which makes a political statement about what games would be if they lacked any fictional elements or conflict. And I think the statement P&T were trying to make with this game was definitely worth making. Plus, we know from the amount of people who play it as a streamed challenge game that there is some desire for a game like that to exist.
No idea where you are or what the labour laws or union situation are. But where I work, a consultation like that is a doctor’s appointment and can therefore be taken as medical leave during working hours.
People forget that basically everything about Trump’s campaign was copied directly from Reagan. Right down to the MAGA slogan
For added authenticity, they should exclusively employ members of Cosa Nostra as voice actors
Maybe it has a setting to gradually start the noise as well? It wouldn’t make a lot of sense for it to introduce the light gradually while also blasting you with the sound.
How do you know it wasn’t going off if you weren’t awake? I’ve had situations before where mine went off but my brain incorporated it into the dream I was having for a little while before waking me up.
The whole point of the fediverse is that it’s distributed. There’s gonna be bigots. But they can be blocked, their instances can ban them, and then they can make their own instances which other instances can then defederate. That’s working as designed. In a perfect world, the bigoted instances will be a disconnected graph from the network of other instances.
TEMU is pretty widely talked about as being a scam. Sorry you weren’t in the know.
Create your own Lemmy community on your own instance then.
Host your own fediverse (Lemmy/Mastodon) instance. See who defederates from you.
I don’t mind fast food kiosks, but I really hate self checkout at the grocery store. It’s literally making me do the work someone else used to do for me of scanning and bagging items. It makes everything take longer. And if you fuck up even a tiny bit, it starts screaming that you are an idiot loud enough for the whole store to hear until an attendant comes to help.
An example of this that really bothers me: I joined several gaming munis because I like to talk about games. But there are people out there who feel that a gaming muni should be about the games industry, and so those munis are just a constant stream of gaming news articles, patch notes, and trailers. Mostly with completely barren comment sections. What I wanted was the social experience of chatting with people about games. I don’t care about (as a random example) the latest Helldivers 2 patch notes.
I think less of an emphasis on having a steady stream of content and more on only posting something that you believe is worthy of discussion would be so much better. If people want to see literally every rockpapershotgun article, they can subscribe to their RSS feed.
The ones in MS Teams are so cursed. I use it for work and I swear everything about that app is peak catering to boomers.
“What does the error message say?”
“I already closed it. Those things are always gibberish”
I could see some kind of arrangement where the age would be something reasonable like 16-18, but then there is a test you can write (basic civics questions eg. who are the candidates, what does the legislative branch do, etc.) and if you pass that test, kind of like a learner’s permit for driving, you can vote even if you’re under that age, down to a hard cutoff of like 13.
