You accidentally walk in on someone masturbating. Clearly they’ve been at it for some time, their body is writhing, their hips bucking rhythmically against their hand, they moan and whimper with pleasure and anticipation as they work themselves so well.

There’s a shamelessness about them in this state of heightened arousal. Noticing your presence, they don’t even think about stopping, they just smirk as they fix their dilated pupils on you and bite their lip as they continue to hungrily get themselves off.

How do you react to such a situation? What is your next move?

For me, the reaction depends on the relationship I have with the person.

    • Is a family member?:Uncomfortable and weird but would laugh most probably
    • Is a friend?: If I find them attractive maybe I’ll join or help.
    • is someone I don’t know?: I’ll better walk off unless it’s a swinger bar or something

Generally speaking, the only times this has happened to me was creepy guys in cars, I wouldn’t say I was particularly bothered but certainly not turned on.

If an ideal situation, I suppose I’d just keep eye contact and watch. See what happens.

I mean, generally, it depends on context doesn’t it?

To be walking in on someone means either they’re doing it in a weird place, or you’re in a place where privacy would be a default assumption.

In other words, most people walking in are walking in on someone in their own home. I’ve walked in on my kid, roommates, my wife, other family members, and I can tell you that the scene you set would not be equal between them lol.

But that degree of “go ahead an watch, it turns me on” I’ve only run into either with a partner or on the job.

I was a nurse’s assistant for twenty years. Most of that in home health. In nursing homes, the bit about smirking and watching you was less rare than you’d think, and was often a method of projecting control. Kind of a “I’m stuck in this place with no real privacy, so I’m not stopping, and fuck you if you don’t like it”.

In homes, it was much more likely to be an invitation of some kind. One that I never accepted because I’m not going to shit where I eat (though there were a couple of times with relatives of patients that I indulged to some degree). My usual response, be it to a patient or their family member, was a polite “scuse me” and exuent. I wasn’t the sort to rise to trolling, nor make a big deal out of things.

Since most of my patients were men or boys, I wouldn’t have been interested anyway, but still.

Now, because there’s a few people on lemmy that know some of the other people in my life, I’m not giving details on my wife and I lol.

But in general, when it’s a partner, I enjoy the show exactly as it’s offered. Sometimes purely visually, sometimes more actively. Depends on the exact situation.

Otherwise? I’m not really going to stick around.

According to his writings, this happened to the Roman poet Catullus. He found a young teen boy masturbating, so he did what any Roman man of that era would do. He sodomized the boy.
