Funny thing is, it was apparently a US helicopter, and part of the problem was that they weren’t wble to service it because sanctions. If it really was an old Soviet machine like on the picture, they would have had less problems.

That’s a thing for many of these comics. They usually incorporate some (often stereotypical) flavor to the characters, usually writing the text as though they were speaking English but with an accent from their native tongue.
I’ve always read it as them just being extremely literal about the grammar of the language they’d speak normally
